| Twyford School arranged a series of events throughout 2009 to celebrate the cultural life and achievements of the School and its pupils. The range of events reflected the School's Christian ethos and the rich variety and breadth of experience offered in the fields of history, literature, science and the arts, as well as sport and other cultural activities. |

Current pupils engaged in a wide variety of events. These included a marvellous Thanksgiving Service at Winchester Cathedral showcasing the School's musical talent, a fabulous and highly acclaimed Art and Design Exhibition, which also featured works by prominent Old Twyfordians including Anthony Eyton RA. |
| More light-hearted pupil events included a whole School Tea Party, a Sponsored Walk, and a wonderful Twyford Extravaganza including a spectacular "Twyford's Got Talent" show. |

For Old Twyfordians, the main event was an Old Twyfordian Day in May, attended by almost 100 OTs and honoured by OT Lord Douglas Hurd who addressed alumni present. We were also grateful to a number of prominent Old Twyfordians who returned to Twyford to give talks and lectures. These included OT Professor Charles Lock, speaking on Twyford's Literary Connections and OT Captain Christopher Orlebar, speaking about the school's many connections with the Story of Concorde. |
| Parents also played their part with the Twyford Parent's Association organising a fabulous Twyford Summer Ball with almost 400 guests, which also raised over £30,000 for the school. Finally, a Sports Dinner with David Gower (a recent parent) was enjoyed by almost 200 guests and raised further funds. |

All in all, the 2009 Celebrations were a wonderful success and a fitting celebration to Twyford's 200 years at its current site. Thank you so much to everyone who participated.
