| The Pre-Preparatory Department is accommodated
in a large Edwardian house, which stands in the spacious grounds
of the School. The nursery class is housed in a separate,
modern, purpose-built building in the garden.
The Pre-Prep aims aims to provide a happy and stable environment
for young boys and girls starting their school life. The curriculum
is wide-ranging with emphasis on the acquisition of sound
English and mathematical skills. Art and crafts, music and
drama and various sporting activities are all important aspects
of the curriculum.
The staff seek to promote a measure of self-confidence and
independence in the children and hope that by the time they
graduate, at the age of eight, to the Preparatory School they
will have acquired an enthusiasm for learning, gained some
awareness of the needs of those around them and developed
an ability to make friends.
