| Our shared purpose is to provide a quality education, in safe
and pleasant surroundings, and to ensure that the worth of every
child is recognised and appreciated. We aim to strike a balance
between the traditional and the progressive - lessons are challenging,
fun and informative. In addition, pupils are taught the importance
of taking responsibility for their own learning, rather than
just being spoon fed.
In seeking to broaden the curriculum we do not lose sight
of the importance of the basics, particularly in English and
mathematics. All children study English, mathematics, science,
French, geography, history, ICT, design & technology,
PSHE and PE. Latin is taught from Year 5.
There are three classes in each year group, and in the upper
years there are two Common Entrance sets and one stream of
pupils who are aiming at specific entrance examinations.
Twyfordians have gained many scholarships over the years
to a wide range of independent schools.
