Myles & Ed wit Twyford children 6th May, 2011 - After all the Twyford children heard their stories during the afternoon, over 100 parents, staff and Old Twyfordians enjoyed two fascinating presentations from OTs Myles Osborne (1988-1993) and Ed Parker (1973-78) about their tales of heroism on Mount Everest and at the North pole respectively.

Whisky Tasting & Elephant Polo Dinner 8th October, 2010 – Over 40 guests enjoyed a hugely entertaining evening when Old Twyfordian Peter Prentice (Twyford 1969–74) presented the perfect blend, combining a sumptuous whisky tasting lecture with a fascinating and irreverent talk on Elephant Polo.

Faure Requiem

Faure Requiem 14th March, 2010 - Fifty Old Twyfordians and friends joined the thirty-strong Senior Choir in a performance of Requiem by Gabriel Fauré. The choir was supported by a chamber orchestra of local musicians and soloists.

2009 Events

To celebrate the School's 200th anniversary of moving to its current site, Twyford School arranged a series of events throughout the year to celebrate the cultural life and achievements of the School and its pupils. Involving staff, parents and pupils past and present, the range of events reflected the School's Christian ethos and the rich variety and breadth of experience offered in the fields of history, literature, science and the arts, as well as sport and culture. Handover of New School Crest

Handover of New School Crest 23rd January, 2009 - The 2009 Celebrations began with the handover of the School's new Coat of Arms, presented to the Chairman of Governors by the Lancaster Herald in front of the whole School. This was followed by a whole School tea party.

Lewis Carroll Lecture & Dinner

Lewis Carroll Lecture & Dinner 27th February, 2009 - Nearly 80 guests returned to the School for a fascinating evening about Lewis Carroll - author of Alice in Wonderland. Although he wasn't an OT, his brothers and cousins were and he was a frequent visitor to Twyford, during which time he took the first known photos of the School.

Twyford's Literary Connections 16th March, 2009 - Professor Charles Lock, Old Twyfordian and Professor of English Literature at the University of Copenhagen returned to Twyford to give a fast moving monologue charting all Twyford's Literary Connections, from Alexander Pope to Thomas Hughes.

Thanksgiving Service at Winchester Cathedral

Thanksgiving Service at Winchester Cathedral 20th March, 2009 - Nearly 1,000 current and past pupils, parents, staff and governors gathered for the centrepiece of the 2009 Celebrations. The School choir, accompanied by the Fanfare Trumpets of the Band of Rifles and a choir of guests and Old Twyfordians, performed various pieces composed by Old Twyfordians including "I was Glad" by Hubert Parry.

Old Twyfordian Day 2009 16th May, 2009 - More than 100 Old Twyfordians and their guests enjoyed a fabulous day touring the School, enjoying Chapel, taking part in an aerial celebratory photograph and enjoying a banquet followed by a vote of thank by OT Lord Douglas Hurd.

Art & Design Exhibition 15th - 23rd May, 2009 - Featuring the work of Twyfordians ranging in age from 10 - 80 years old, a week-long art exhibition thrilled all who saw it. Guest of honour was renowned artist and Old Twyfordian, Anthony Eyton RA.

Super Extravaganza 6th June, 2009 - Featuring a Twyford's Got Talent contest and the wonderful marching music of the General Corps Band of the British Army and perfect sunshine, the TPA's Extravaganza was a day to remember.
