TWYFORD SCHOOL, HIGH STREET, TWYFORD, WINCHESTER, HAMPSHIRE, SO21 1NWIAPS co-educational day/boarding school – 435 pupils aged 2-13 years.

Twyford is a successful co-educational, independent day and boarding prep school for pupils age two to thirteen. Situated in the village of Twyford, near Winchester, the School is set within a truly enviable position of 23 acres of mature grounds, with a beautiful Queen Anne country house as its centrepiece. Surrounded by stunning Hampshire countryside, the School prides itself on being one of the oldest prep schools in the country.

Job Purpose:

To provide administrative assistance to the Director of Music in order to ensure the smooth running of the Music Department. Reporting directly to the Director of Music.

Key Responsibilities

  • Liaising between pupils, Visiting Music Teachers (VMT’s) and parents regarding extra-curricula music lessons
  • Producing the weekly individual music lesson timetable whilst being aware of any school trips which may cause timetable changes. Publish the weekly timetable for individual music lessons on the School Portal and send out to all staff members. Inform VMT’s of any pupil’s absence through illness
  • Organising all music examination entries by submitting entries for public examination boards, liaise with other schools to share examination centres and forward billing information to the Finance Department to ensure parents are correctly and timely invoiced. Current examination boards include The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music and Trinity Guildhall.

Hours of Work:

Part-time 07.45am – 1.15pm, excluding breaks, Monday to Friday, term time only + Insets

Additional hours (paid via timesheet) to include:

Exam Stewarding 2 days per term 3pm – 6pm

Concert stewarding 2 days per term 3pm – 7pm

Supervision of music trips 2 days per term
