Headmaster’s Welcome

Twyford is a very special school. We put the happiness and fulfilment of each and every child at the centre of all we do. We recognise that every child has unique gifts and we believe that the overtly positive and encouraging educational environment which exists at Twyford enables our pupils to flourish and thrive.  We are a school that is ambitious but supportive, challenging but nurturing, forward thinking but proud of our 200 year history.

We have established strong relationships with the very best independent schools in the country. We pride ourselves on guiding every child in our care to the right next step and in the process manage the applications and prepare them thoroughly for pre-testing. Our pupils have achieved remarkable results, with many winning coveted and wide-ranging scholarships along the way.

In a world that is complex and often uncertain we strive to equip our leavers with the skills and values that will enable them to be flexible thinkers, competent collaborators, combined with a strong moral compass and sense of duty. Above all else our hope is that pupils look back on their experience at Twyford and say that they had the best time of their lives.

I hope this website gives you a sense of what makes Twyford so special, but it is only in visiting where you can truly experience it. A very warm welcome awaits you; until then, please click here to enjoy our School film.

Location

Twyford School is situated in the heart of the village of Twyford, which lies 3 miles south of Winchester. Despite being just an hour southwest of London by direct train and with close proximity to the M3 and the historic city of Winchester, the School sits within 30 acres of extensive and attractive grounds with the Queen Anne school building at its heart.

With outstanding views of the South Downs surrounding us and plenty of space for children to roam and explore, Twyford School has a wonderful country feel with the benefit of good train and road connections.
