Our Community
Twyford Society & Alumni
The Twyford Society has been running for just over a decade and includes everybody in the Twyford community from the pupils, alumni, current and past parents to past and present staff and Governors. It enables people to retain a connection to the School and keep in touch with friends and colleagues.
A twice-yearly magazine, Twyford Life, is sent to all and is a means by which news and events can be shared and celebrated within the community. It also includes stories from the archives of the history of the School alongside amusing anecdotes from the past.
A variety of events are held throughout the year ranging from Bob Wickham Legacy lunches to Alumni reunion lunches, Golf Days and Twyford Society evening talks which are followed by an informal supper. Co-ordinated by Fiona McIntosh, Development and Alumni Manager (and past parent herself!) from the School office, the Twyford Society is a hub for our alumni.
The Bob Wickham Society was set up in 2011 to celebrate the generosity of Headmaster Bob Wickham who, in 1955, transferred the School from his own private ownership into a charitable trust thereby securing the future of Twyford School. The Bob Wickham Society consists of a group of Old Twyfordians, parents, staff and governors who have generously left legacies in their wills to benefit the School. A bi-annual lunch takes place at Twyford for the Bob Wickham Society members.
Members of Twyford Society who wish to do so can also support the School financially by contributing to specific appeals or making regular donations.
