Bursaries

The Governors of Twyford School are committed to broadening access to the School by offering eligible parents means-tested financial support with the payment of fees.   

Such support, known as a Bursary, and made at the discretion of the Governors, may be awarded in the form of a discount on tuition and other fees payable, depending on the financial, compassionate or other pertinent circumstances of applicants.

Bursary awards are made at the discretion of the Governors, who will calculate discount levels in relation to a family’s financial circumstances based on a means-test which includes a review of income and capital resources.  We work with specialist financial assessors to ensure we offer financial support to the extent necessary.
Bursary awards depend on parents/guardians’ circumstances (e.g. their savings, investments and realisable assets, as well as their income, the size of their family, any other persons dependent upon them and like factors), compassionate or other pertinent considerations.    Bursaries are means-tested each year and may change as a family’s financial situation improves or deteriorates.
Requests for financial support usually fall into two categories;

• New applicants to the School, where a place has been offered, but parents are unable to fund the tuition fees and/or other costs in full or part.
• Existing pupils where a change in parents’ circumstances has resulted in difficulty in meeting tuition fees and may result in the child being withdrawn part way through a stage of education.
