Enhanced Boarding Enrichment Programme Introduced for Spring Term 28.01.2026

A newly expanded Boarding Enrichment Programme has been introduced this term, adding fresh energy, creativity and academic focus to boarding evenings while maintaining the calm, familiar atmosphere that pupils value.

The updated programme offers pupils short, optional 35‑minute enrichment sessions at the start of each evening, designed to give them the chance to try something new or deepen an existing interest. Alongside unstructured time for reading, chatting or relaxing with friends, boarders can now choose from a varied weekly menu including LAMDA rehearsals, cookery skills, supervised music practice, craft activities, recreational clubs and focused academic support.

This new academic dimension – described by staff as adding an “academic spark” to boarding – will help pupils build confidence and good study habits in a supportive, low‑pressure environment. During key points in the year, such as exam periods, the programme will also include daily subject‑specific study sessions to provide structure and reassurance when it matters most.

As part of the development of boarding, Year 4 pupils will now have the opportunity to board on Friday nights through the Twyford Award. This gentle introduction offers younger pupils the chance to enjoy new experiences, spend time with friends and gain confidence in a nurturing setting.

To support families more flexibly, the boarding offer now includes a broadened range of options: Sunday night and Monday morning drop‑offs, 1-4 night flexi‑boarding, and a relaxed “Supper and Stay” option for children needing occasional evening care.

The aim of the newly enriched programme is to enhance, not change, the rhythm of boarding life. Evenings remain relaxed and reassuring, with new opportunities woven carefully into the existing routine. Whether learning a new skill, practising an academic passion or simply enjoying time with friends, pupils are encouraged to explore, grow and have fun within the comfort and familiarity of the boarding environment.
