Partnerships at Twyford School

At Twyford, we believe in the power of collaboration to enrich the lives of all children. Our dedicated Partnerships Programme brings together schools, charities and organisations to share opportunities, broaden horizons and strengthen our community.

We have a long-standing relationship with our village school, Twyford St Mary’s, which continues to thrive through joint activities. Each week our music teacher delivers recorder lessons to all Year 2 pupils, culminating in a joyful Summer Term performance.

Mixed cricket matches on the Twyford grounds provide valuable sporting experience, while a new Year 5 Drama Day brought pupils together for workshops and a lively performance to parents. Science Day and the village allotment project are further highlights, with our Eco-Warriors helping to plant seeds, build bird houses and create feeders. Shared use of our swimming pool and minibuses also ensures facilities benefit children across both schools.

Alongside these local initiatives, our reach now extends beyond the community. This year marked the launch of our partnership with Lumina, providing mentoring and tutoring for children in Hampshire’s care system. Twyford is the only prep school in the county involved, with two teachers delivering weekly online sessions.

We are equally proud to partner with the Royal National Children’s SpringBoard Foundation (RNCSF), a national network committed to widening access to transformative education for disadvantaged and vulnerable children. As a leading co-educational prep school in Hampshire, we are honoured to support RNCSF’s mission of opening doors through fully funded bursary placements. Welcoming our first SpringBoarder in September 2025 has marked a significant milestone in our efforts to make a meaningful difference in young lives.

At the heart of these initiatives lies Twyford’s ethos of care, inclusion and opportunity. From our vibrant boarding community and exceptional pastoral care to strong SEN provision in The Hub, and our commitment to sustainability and community outreach, we nurture confident, curious and well-rounded individuals. The Wickham Foundation’s Transformational Bursary Programme reflects this ethos, offering a “110% commitment” to every child we support. More than covering tuition, it provides the complete Twyford experience - from boarding and trips to music, uniform and clubs -giving each pupil the chance to flourish and make the very most of every opportunity.

We believe education has the power to change lives, and our role is to provide every child with the academic, social and emotional foundations to thrive. With the support of our donors, we can offer not just a bursary, but a truly life-changing experience - one that opens doors, nurtures potential and builds futures rooted in confidence, curiosity and possibility.

We are very pleased with our on-going partnership with Twyford school and feel that the relationship has definitely enhanced our curriculum, We are looking forward to another year packed full of joint ventures and personally I am very excited about seeing the Anglo Saxon remains, as that’s a key topic for our year 4s.
