hreeIT ALL STARTS HERE – BIG ADVENTURES FOR LITTLE LEARNERS
A Nurturing Space for Every Little Learner
We offer two dedicated Nursery classes tailored to different stages of early childhood:
Little Acorns (Ages 2–3) - A gentle introduction to Nursery life, where our youngest learners begin their journey through play, sensory exploration, and social interaction.
Oaks (Ages 3–4) - A vibrant environment that builds independence, communication, and school readiness through rich, hands-on experiences.
No matter where they start, each child is encouraged to take confident steps towards discovery, developing at their own pace with the guidance of our experienced, caring staff.
A World of Discovery and Imagination

Our Nursery is a place where learning is a joyful adventure. Through a carefully planned curriculum filled with language-rich experiences, creative play and hands-on exploration, children develop the strong foundations that underpin future learning. Guided by highly skilled practitioners, children's interests, questions and curiosities are woven into everyday experiences, creating meaningful opportunities to think critically, solve problems, collaborate with others and celebrate personal achievements.

Learning knows no boundaries. Children flow naturally between our inspiring indoor and outdoor environments, where wonder, exploration and purposeful play bring learning to life. By nurturing curiosity, communication, confidence and independence, we create the foundations for children not only to succeed in school, but to flourish far beyond it.

  • Swimming (for Oaks pupils) - Building confidence in the water.
  • Library - Regular visits nuture a love of books, stories and early reading.

From woodland adventures to Music Room visits and lunch in the main dining hall, Nursery children enjoy the full Twyford experience. Busy days are balanced with cosy reading, calm rest and a well-earned snooze when needed.

A Strong Partnership with Families
At Twyford Nursery, we recognise that parents are a child’s first educators. We work hand in hand with families, supporting key developmental milestones—including toilet training—and ensuring a smooth transition through the early years. Daily handovers with your child’s key person provide valuable insights into their progress, achievements, and moments of joy.
A Commitment to Excellence

We are passionate about providing an exceptional early education. Our experienced staff create a stimulating and well-resourced environment, ensuring low pupil-to-staff ratios that exceed statutory requirements. Each child benefits from the care of a dedicated and highly trained key person, who nurtures their development with personalised support.

This tailored approach ensures every child receives the attention and encouragement they need to thrive—academically, socially, and emotionally.

We look forward to welcoming your child to Twyford Nursery, where they will be supported, inspired, and encouraged to grow in a happy and engaging environment. A love for learning starts here.

Early Years Funding

Early Years (EY) funding is available from the term after your child turns three. Parents can access up to 15 hours of EY funding a week. Any unused EY hours may be applied to other settings. Please note that EY funding ceases when a pupil moves up to Reception and cannot be applied to ad-hoc sessions. To continue offering high-quality provision for our 2-year-olds, we are therefore unable to offer the new funded hours to pupils aged 2.
