Trips and adventures
Outdoor learning is a key part of early childhood development, and we make the most of every opportunity to take learning beyond the classroom.
Each week our Pre-Prep pupils head to Forest School, come rain or shine, where they gain rich sensory experiences through fire skills, den-building, woodwork and cookery. Our Forest School learning is carefully intertwined with our curriculum based topics.

Adventure around every cornerFrom racetracks to treehouses and outdoor stages, every day is filled with energy, imagination and play. |
Discover, explore, get hands‑onWhether tending the garden, meeting our animals or making music outdoors, children connect with the world around them. |
Little journeys, big memoriesFrom local hills to seaside adventures, our trips spark curiosity and create experiences children never forget. |
Our spacious play area is a hive of activity: children race pedal cars around the racetrack, scale the adventure playground, and put on impromptu shows on the outdoor stage.
There’s an orchestra of outdoor instruments and a water-play zone, so there’s always something new to discover.
The Pre-Prep garden is another favourite. Gardening Club tends the fruit and vegetable beds, while our friendly rabbit and chickens are much-loved members of the community.
EXCURSIONS
From Nursery Oaks to Year 2, pupils regularly climb aboard our minibuses for adventures near and far. Popular trips include St Catherine’s Hill, Gilbert White’s House, the Sustainability Centre, Avon Beach in Mudeford and the theatre.
Parents and carers are warmly invited to help on outings. Safeguarding training is provided, so our families can share in the excitement of these memorable days out.
