Twyford Parents’ Association
Enriching the Twyford journey through events, friendship, and support.
The Twyford Parents’ Association (TPA) is an important and much-loved part of life at Twyford School. At its heart, the TPA exists to bring families, pupils, and staff together, helping to create the strong sense of community that makes Twyford so special.

ANNUAL EVENTS
Each year, the TPA organises a varied programme of events which offer something for everyone. For the whole community, occasions such as Fireworks Night, the Christmas Fair, and the Summer Extravaganza provide joyful opportunities to gather, celebrate, and share in the life of the School.
Other events are designed specifically for parents and staff, including the ever-popular Quiz Night, Prep and Pre-Prep Drinks, and the Summer Ball, which give adults the chance to socialise and strengthen friendships beyond the classroom. The children are never forgotten - school discos are organised exclusively for them, giving pupils the chance to enjoy fun and excitement with their friends.
SUPPORTING PROJECTS AND CHARITIES
While community and enjoyment are always the main focus, many TPA events also raise funds to support smaller projects that would not normally fall within the school’s budget. These projects are suggested through the TPA bids system and are designed to benefit pupils, parents, or both.
From time to time, the TPA also runs events with a dedicated fundraising purpose. For example the Summer Ball, which raised funds for The Wickham Foundation, Twyford’s bursary scheme supporting children from underprivileged backgrounds. Alongside this, the TPA regularly supports the School’s charity of the year, chosen by the pupils, with all proceeds from the Christmas Cracker donated to the nominated cause.

THE TPA COMMITTEE
The work of the TPA is made possible by a dedicated committee of around 14 parent volunteers, supported by staff members from both the Prep and Pre-Prep. Each year group is also represented by two or three Year Reps, who help to coordinate events, arrange year-group activities, and welcome new families into the School.
Parent volunteers also run the second-hand uniform shop, which remains one of the busiest and most popular services in the School. The funds raised from the shop provide valuable contributions to the TPA bids system, ensuring that parents’ efforts directly support the wider community.
A WELCOME TO ALL
The TPA is a cornerstone of the Twyford community, bringing togetherness to school life. From the sparkle of Fireworks Night to the excitement of the Summer Extravaganza and the magic of the Christmas Cracker, its events have become a cherished part of the Twyford journey, creating special moments that reflect the vibrant spirit of the School.
The TPA thrives on the support of parents and warmly welcomes everyone to take part. Whether you choose to volunteer, share ideas, or simply join in the celebrations, your support helps strengthen the bonds that make our community so special. To find out more, please contact us.
